 The Congress of Ghosts is an anniversary celebration for 2010. THE LEE LYSLE WILLEY PHOTOGRAPH AND DOCUMENT COLLECTION

Integral to this Collection is the biography page for Lee Willey, which itself exhibits 60 photographs, documents and artifacts that illustrate the detailed chronology of Willey's career in aviation. Please direct your browser to his link to learn about one of the Register's most interesting and accomplished, yet little-known, pilots.
These images, added to the 84 presented in the sections below, comprise in sum an intimate look into the major phases of Lee Willey's life, family and flying career.
Lee Lysle Willey was among the top five most frequent visitors to Tucson as evidenced by his 44 records in the Davis-Monthan Airfield Register. The other four were Harold Russell (83), Harold Kelsey (53), Thaddeus V. Foster (an Army pilot, 35), and William Kingsley (31). As you learned from his biography, he was a pilot for Standard Air Lines. Interestingly, Russell, Kelsey and Kingsley were fellow pilotsof Standard Air Lines, which ran a scheduled passenger and freight transport service between Los Angeles and El Paso, TX, through Tucson, for a brief period between 1928 and 1930.

BOYHOOD PHOTOGRAPHS - Exhibits nine photographs of Lee Willey as a youth.
EARLY CAREER -- Exhibits 13 photographs of Lee Willey and the aircraft he flew.
EASTERN AIRLINES -- Exhibits four images of Eastern Airlines aircraft and photographs by Willey taken therefrom.
RICKENBACKER CORRESPONDENCES -- Exhibits 25 documents and photographs, including personal and Eastern Airlines corporate letters and Holiday Greetings, most signed by Eastern Airlines President Eddie Rickenbacker.
MILITARY SERVICE -- Exhibits 33 documents and photographs of Lee Willey during his military career, June 24, 1942-September 1, 1946.
